Is this the official website of the National Palace of Sintra?
No. Pena Palace Visit is an independent visitor guide. The official site is parquesdesintra.pt. Our tickets are sold by our partner Tiqets.
How much does a ticket cost?
13 € for the Essential Visit on the official site and on Tiqets (adult price, read on 22 October 2026). The Full Visit with the Maria Pia rooms is 35 € on the official site.
Why does it have two chimneys?
They belong to the royal kitchens, according to Parques de Sintra. They are the symbol of the town.
How long should I allow?
1 to 1.5 hours, our estimate.
Is the garden free?
Yes, the Jardim da Preta is free to enter, according to the official page.
Is it open all year?
Every day except 1 January and 24, 25 and 31 December. The ticket office closes from 12:00 to 13:00, with ticket machines available.
Can I combine it with Pena?
Yes, it is the easiest to combine with a morning at Pena. Book the Pena slot first, then come down to the old town.
Is it suitable for children?
Children under 6 enter free. We have no official information about facilities for children.
